Virtual production dalam animasi digital: analisis bibliometrik mengungkap kesenjangan konseptualisasi dalam literatur global 2021-2025

Abstract

Penelitian bibliometrik ini berfokus untuk memetakan struktur intelektual serta evolusi tematik dari virtual production dan persirisannya dengan industri animasi digital berdasarkan analisis terhadap 3.032 artikel jurnal terindeks Scopus pada rentang tahun 2021 hingga 2025. Hasil audit data menunjukkan adanya lonjakan tren publikasi yang sangat signifikan, yakni dari 343 dokumen pada tahun 2021 meningkat tajam menjadi 978 dokumen pada tahun 2025, dengan IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics tercatat sebagai sumber publikasi terbanyak. Melalui pemetaan co-occurrence kata kunci menggunakan VOSviewer, teridentifikasi beberapa klaster tematik yang mendominasi, seperti virtual reality, mixed reality, real-time rendering, deep learning, dan 3D reconstruction. Kendati demikian, temuan paling menarik dari studi ini mengungkapkan bahwa istilah "virtual production" secara eksplisit hanya muncul pada 5 dari total 3.032 dokumen atau sekitar 0,16% saja. Kondisi ini menyoroti adanya kesenjangan riset yang cukup lebar: sementara wacana ilmiah mengenai teknologi pendukungnya berkembang dengan pesat, konseptualisasi serta pelabelan eksplisit mengenai virtual production sebagai sebuah bidang kajian tersendiri—terutama dalam konteks industri animasi digital—masih sangat jarang diteliti secara langsung. Sebagai respons atas temuan tersebut, artikel ini mengusulkan agenda penelitian masa depan yang berorientasi pada penggabungan kajian teknis mutakhir seperti 3D Gaussian splatting dan digital twin dengan realitas praktik industri animasi. Melalui kontribusi ini, studi tersebut diharapkan mampu menghadirkan peta jalan konseptual yang komprehensif bagi para akademisi, praktisi, maupun pembuat kebijakan dalam mengarahkan pengembangan riset virtual production di masa mendatang.
